Employment Law Questions? Ask an Employment Lawyer.
Hi and welcome to JA. Ray here to help you tonight.
No you need to write the judgment creditor and explain that they are an independent contractors not employees and not subject to wage garnishment. These funds are not wages but rather income to a contractor as they are self employed not employees under the law.Again they are not subject to withholding you just need to advise them that they are 1099 contractors.
I appreciate the chance to help you tonight. Thanks again.
You are so welcome. If you can five star rate it is always much appreciated.
