Customer Question

If my employer directs that I, as a middle manager, have to change my normal work hours to re-train an employee who was suspended for performance issues, and this change of hours causes me to lose eight (8) hours pay, can said employer mandate that I utilize my PTO (Paid Time Off) to compensate for the day?

Thank you for the information and your question. In order to assist you properly I will need to know what State you work in. Also, can you explain how you would be losing 8 hours of pay? Are you an exempt salaried manager or non-exempt hourly worker? Are you in a union?
