I am sorry to hear about this situation.
If you were terminated simply for being hearing impaired, or partially due to this, then this may be actionable under the Americans with Disabilities Acts. The ADA makes it unlawful to discriminate in all employment issues based on disability. If you feel that this was the case, then REPLY and we can discuss this.
If you were terminated for something else, then this is not unlawful. Even though someone in your situation may have hearing impairment, this does not give one extra "protection" from being fired for a lawful reason. And a lawful reason for termination can be almost anything, provided that it is not (1) discrimination, (2) violates an employee contract, or, (3) violates a covenant of good faith such as firing a worker to avoid paying a bonus or other benefit.
Otherwise, the employer is free to fire an employee for ANY reason they choose. This may be whether or not the reason is even valid.
Please note: If I tell you simply what you wish to hear, this would be unfair to you. I need to be honest with you and sometimes this means providing information that is not optimal. I hope this helps and clarifies. Please use the SEND or REPLY button to keep chatting, or please RATE when finished. You may always ask follow ups at no charge after rating. Kindly rate my answer as one of TOP THREE FACES/STARS and then SUBMIT, as this is how I get credit for my time with you. Rating my answer the bottom two faces/stars or failing to submit the rating does not give me credit and reflects poorly on me, even if my answer is correct. I work very hard to formulate an informative and honest answer for you; please reciprocate my good faith with a positive rating.
