The State of Alabama stopped my unemployment benefits

Customer Question

The State of Alabama stopped my unemployment benefits because they said I did not attend a meeting that they set up for me at the Career Center. The letter I received said I was selected to participate; it did not say I had to or it was mandatory. I had already registered online with the Career Center and updated my resume. Now I have received a letter stating it was mandatory.

Hello

The way around it to contact them, explain the misunderstanding, ask for reinstatement and seek to reschedule the meeting and attend it. benefits would be reinstated retroactively. mistakes happen, and this is how its best addressed.
