Customer Question

Hi, My husband just got a "final warning" (2nd write up) at his job yesterday. He believes he is being targeted, discriminated against due to his age - 57.
(too much to write, not enough time. I have to leave for an appointment in 10 minutes.)

He needs to go ahead and submit that letter to the employer. Believe it or not, the best protection he has is in actually confronting the employer with his suspicions because he then comes under the protection of Title VII laws against retaliation for having complained about discrimination (actually ADEA laws for age discrimination, but same concept).

He should submit his complaint to the employer and then, if not satisfied, immediately file an EEOC complaint.
