Customer Question

I am a private sector business owner that gives my employees 1) 15 minute break in the morning, 1/2 hour lunch break, 1) 15 minute break in the afternoon. We start work at 8:00 am, and get done at 5:00 pm. They get paid for a 8 hour day. Is this correct procedure? Thanks

Yes this is acceptable and complies with the fair labor standards act. Should an employee work more than 40 hours be sure to pay time and a half. Keep time records. I wish you the best.
