i just recently left Fluor government group (an overseas federal contractor in Afghanistan). i have been told by several people that under a new 2010 law i am eligible for unemployment benefits. if this is true, whom do i file with? as my states (Maryland) unemployment website does not have a file link for out of state/ out of country federal contract workers.
Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. You would still file for benefits in your home state of Maryland even though there's no file link for out of state or out of country federal contract workers.
so does that mean that i am elligable for unemployment benefits in Maryland?
Yes, if you were terminated from employment through no fault of your own you are eligible for unemployment benefits.
