Resolved Question:

Is there a minimum time off between shifts of work. Example I have to work till
11 PM one night and I am scheduled to return to work at 5:30 AM the next morning.
This happens about once a month. I was told there should be a 8 hour break between shifts. If there is a law what law is it and where can I find it?

I work for Lowes as a Customer Service Rep. I also run a forklift and other type equpiment in my job

In the retail industry there is no law that mandates a certain number of hours being required between shifts. So it is not illegal for them to schedule as they have been doing. They may be liable if you have an accident on a day that you do not get a longer break.
