does the eeoc work with false accusations of hostile work environment. These charges have been brought on due to retaliation for employee going to union and filing hostile work environment charges approximately 1 1/2 year ago when a co-worker was demoted out of the department.

A charge must be filed with EEOC within 180 days from the date of the alleged violation.   This 180-day filing deadline is extended to 300 days if the charge also is covered by a state or local anti-discrimination law.
