New Linux install. I get "RETR failed every time I try to receive E-Mail.
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: Not a lot . It had been unused for several years. I just installed Linux Mint and are trying to use the Thunderbird that was included.
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: Through Windows 10/Thunderbird.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Not a lot.
JA: Anything else you want the email expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: The system is an IBM 8189 with a Pentium 4 3.2 GHZ, 1 GB ram

Hi sorry for the delay, I was trying to add a yahoo account in my instance but it does not want to accept my pwrd.

A groupwise account however syncs well.
