my iPad was disabled last night. It is pretty old, and seems that I had set it up with email address***@******.***. I don't use that email anymore because I have a new address***@******.***. I tried to set it back up again, but I can't get to the email.
JA: Just to clarify, what email service provider are you using?
Customer: I have 2. One is for my business "Judees". the provider is Backspace and the address is Judees&Judees.com. The second is***@******.***. Apparently the iPad was set up with***@******.***.
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: web browser and iPhone
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I tried to log into***@******.*** and reset the password. I was rejected because I couldn't prove that I was the owner of that account.
JA: Anything else you want the email expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don't think so.

Please follow these steps,

  • Connect the USB cable to the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable disconnected from your computer's USB port.
  • press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time.
  • When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
  • While pressing and holding the Home button, connect the USB cable to the computer. The device should turn on.
  • Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
  • When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
  • Then use iTunes to restore the iPad.
