I get messages that go to the inbox and are obviously junk.

I get messages that go to the inbox and are obviously junk. I move them to the junk file. Than I hit "Block." The error message I get is that the sender's email address is invalid or unrecognizable, and the system cannot block that message. My only recourse is to delete, but that doesn't address the junk problem. What can I do?
JA: Just to clarify, how often have you been getting this particular message?
Customer: This idiosyncrasy began about 3 weeks ago. My contact with the Dell suppoprt concierge could not fix it. Can you?
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: On my desk top through the Google Chrome browser.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Just the concierge. Also, recently, I notice that when I hover over the incoming email, I cannot view the online source as I used to.
JA: Anything else you want the email expert to know before I connect you?
