Can you tell me what version of iOS you are currently running, please?
From the Home screen;
On the About screen, look for the "Version" information. Please let me know what it says.
and who is the email provider for the account you are having issues with currently?
(you're likely receiving an automated offer for an additional service, you can ignore that)
it's probably best to delete and re-add the account back to the iPad.
TO REMOVE ACCOUNT
From the home screen, tap Settings.
tap “Mail Contacts, Calendars”
From the Accounts section, tap the email account you wish to remove.
tap “Delete Account”.
tap “Delete” to confirm.
TO ADD ACCOUNT
In Settings > “Mail Contacts, Calendars”…
In the Accounts section, Tap “Add Account”.
tap your email provider or use "Other" if not listed
Follow the onscreen steps and provide the required information to configure your account. In the boxes provided you should enter your name, complete email address, password, and a description of the account.
Once you’ve entered your information, in the top right, tap Next.
After your account has been verified, in the top right, tap Save. (Note: Make sure that the Mail option is turned ON.)
When the account setup has been completed, test that it works properly.

Ok, I'm not clear, do you now have a working email account with Mediacom? Your email sign in problem was with them specifically. Are you saying they could not help you regain access to your original account?

When I asked you to sign into the webmail portal for Mediacom that was directly on their site and nothing to do with your Apple iPad. You indicated you could not sign in. Has that been remedied?
I'm sorry you are frustrated but I am only try to help. Your email problem was originally with Mediacom. If they can not provide you with a working account then that is not the fault of Apple or myself. Your mail was not working previously because of your issue with Mediacom. The iPad problem was only a symptom.
