Customer Question

When I set up my computer I had a Hotmail account, I added my Microsoft, pictures, files. I refreshed the system as the computer was not running well. I noticed I had two accounts one for Hotmail and one for MTS. I believe I deleted the Hotmail account and now have lost all my files. Is there a way to get this back.

Hi! Why do you believe your account is deleted?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have no pictures, music or saved files.
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.
If you go to http://www.hotmail.com Are you brought to a sign-in screen or into an email account?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I get my email account only
My loaded page is completely different, icons are missing from previous screen.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The email is a different format, I prefer outlook format
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.

Hi, What do you mean by "outlook format"? Are you using the Outlook email program?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That switched to MTS which matches my email.
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.
I am not sure what you mean that it switched and matches your email. Are you able to sign into the Hotmail account?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes, I have a password ***** it only takes me to my email, it does allow me to retrieve the files.
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.
What type of files?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am not looking for an email, I am looking for all my data that was saved in pictures, music, my folders are all empty.
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.
Ah gotcha - So you are looking for the personal pictures, etc that you had saved on your hard drive; is that right?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
yes

Do you remember if you selected the option to keep your files before doing the reset?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It was a refresh that stated no files would be deleted.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Perhaps there was a selection I missed or bypassed.
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.
Are you sure you didn't accidentally select Reset instead of Refresh which are two different options? I am assuming that you have Windows 8
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am not sure now
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.
Try this.. Click on the Search icon and type in the name of a file that you can remember Does it appear?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I tried two different names, nothing.
Expert:  Josh replied 1 year ago.

Using Recuva should resolve your issue. I have used the program with thousands of customers to recover files but you must download and run the file.
