Hi,
How did you reset Internet Explorer?
Can you try Hotmail with another browser, such as Firefox and check? http://www.firefox.com/
Thank you,

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

I reset it in Internet options

Hotmail opens up in chrome, safari

Expert:  Viet - Email Tech replied 4 years ago.
Did you try all of these:

  1. Close all Internet Explorer windows and folders.
  2. Click Start , and then click Control Panel.
  3. Open Network and Internet if available, open Internet Options. Then click on Delete and delete everything.
  4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
  5. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
  6. Then check.

Please let me know. Thank you,
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

If it still does not work, does your hotmail email account work with Internet Explorer on another computer if you have? Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Still does not work. Yes it works on my old laptop which runs Vista. This problem only occurred the other day. It had been working fine up until then. Also windows live mail will not open, gives an error message (0x80041161) if that is any help

Expert:  Viet - Email Tech replied 4 years ago.

Sorry, can you click Start->All programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore and restore the computer to any date before this issue has occurred?

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

No option for system restore in system tools menu and the link in control panel does not work either.

Expert:  Viet - Email Tech replied 4 years ago.
Press at the same time the two keys Windows and R , then type rstrui.exe then click OK, and continue, thanks.

May I remote into your computer and help you resolve the problem? I will send a remote link within minutes after your response, so please keep refreshing the page.

Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Hi Jason

Sorry I have to go out for a while, haven't got the time right now. Seems to be a deep rooted problem, my guess would be an update or something. I will try and get a windows update when i get back to see if that will fix it, I don't understand why it works perfectly on my old laptop and ipad. I can access my email on my ipad for the time being. If you come up with a solution in the meantime i will check my mails when i get back

Thanks

Expert:  Jason Jones replied 4 years ago.

Thank you for the update.
When you return, please, let me know what your decision on the remote option is.
Thank you.
