My camera is producing pictures with a halo on the side all

Customer Question

My camera is producing pictures with a white halo on the side all of a sudden. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: It's a Nikon d750 and got sep 2015
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Just for a few days
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Only have tried cleaning it The shutter also locks when I try to take a photo after powering up

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

Did you just change the White Balance settings or configuration?

Was the camera dropped, or gotten near or used in a dusty/gritty environment?

Are you photographing in bright light or brightish at least? if so, try a test photo in dimmer light... if the white halo is gone, that is meaningful, if it disappears in less lighted conditions.
