I'm having an issue with my samsung syncmaster 932b, I don't

Customer Question

I'm having an issue with my samsung syncmaster 932b
JA: Has your Samsung done this before? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: I don't know, and probably about 6 years old
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: just started, and I haven't tried any yet
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: it comes on for a few seconds at a time whenever I turn it on, makes a high pitched whining noise, then shuts off again.

This fault is likely caused by swollen or leaking electrolytic capacitors in the power supply circuit inside the monitor.

These can be replaced by an electronics repair tech, or you can replace them yourself with equivalent value capacitors if you have a soldering iron available.
