Hi. I'm Steve and I will be assisting you today. I've been helping customers like you on this site since 2005.

*** Please note that I cannot take a call right now*** Please ignore the automated prompts for a phone call. It is not me sending them to you.

Ok. Now...I assume this is a Nikon D750??

And you are referring to the illumination light that is to the left of the lens (looking from the front)?

Let me know that you are there so that we can continue.

NikonD750. Yes that illumination light. The built-in AF-assist illuminator option is set to 'ON' in the menu, but it's not coming on for some reason no matter what the lighting conditions

Ok. I have a 7200. Let me grab it and I'll also pull the manual. I may be away up to 10 minutes.

Hold on please.

Expert:  Steve G. replied 1 month ago.

Real quick, you are set to AF-S - correct? It won't come on for AF-C.

Let me know.

Expert:  Steve G. replied 1 month ago.

And it probably only works with AF Center Point so set that.

Give them both a try and let me know.

How do I set to AF-S?
Expert:  Steve G. replied 1 month ago.

Ok. The AF/M switch bottom right front as you look at the camera. Set it to AF. Push in the center button and spin the rear thumb dial to select AF-S.
