Customer Question

My smoke-car.monoxide alarm started chirping. I removed the batteries. It still chirps and says "low battery." I tried to put in new AA batteries, but they don't stay in and the unit doesn't say which way the batteries should be installed.
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: It's 2 1/2 years old. We have 2 other alarms that take 9 volt bateries. This one had 2 AA batteries. How can I stop the chirping?
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It started about 14 hours ago. I tried replacing the batteries, but they don't stay in, and there's no + or - sign on the unit.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no.
