JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Panasonic AE7000A I think. A couple of years old
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: As I said, I bought a new remote and it will not turn it off and on either. I turn it on via the power button on the side.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: The projector experianced minor water damage from our ceiling. It works fine but no remote function.

I suspect water damage, but am wondering if there could be anything else?
Customer: replied 14 days ago.
It has been a few weeks, everything is now dry, I waited a long time prior to powering it back up.
Customer: replied 14 days ago.
Pardon me, it is a Panasonic AE8000. Not an AE7000.

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

You did well to wait a while for drying time before turning it On again.

(But, did you wait for days? or just hours or 1/2 a day? if so that may have been too little.)

If both remotes fail to work, without any sign that either one has a problem (and with fresh batteries correctly inserted in them, etc.), then the 'receiver' on the projector is most likely damaged. I would say that your projector needs service-repairing for this defect.
