I have a Technics integrated 150W amp that was working

Customer Question

I have a Technics integrated 150W amp that was working great. I turned the system off and turned it back again a day later and failed to run. The other systems (bar meters shows activity, but no sound. Please help!
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: The make is Technics, model #SU-V10X, over 20 years old
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: it has just begun troubleshooting. I have tried just about every configuration of buttons and in the sequence of which I have used in the past. I am running Bose 901's with the Bose 901 equalizer.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Maybe its time for a expert to come to my house and do a total updgrade to my system.

Hi and welcome to the site, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, does everything work except no sound?

Is the Bose equalizer powered on?

Are connections / cables between Bose and Technics checked? ...good ?

Still, let's review the basics. Proposed preliminary checks (if have not been done) :

  • • try to plug in a pair of headphones;
  • • exercise speaker main/remote buttons;
  • • exercise tape 1 and tape 2 buttons;
  • • muting switch off;
  • • check Bose TAPE button setting.
