Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.
How old is your Kindle, please? and, when you press its power button, after charging it up for at least 2 hours, what shows on its screen?
Thanks... when you press its power button, after charging it up for at least 2 hours, what shows on its screen?
I'm here. (You don't have to use the phone call option, that's OK.)
I suspect that your Kindle's battery may have failed.
Does the charger plug directly into the Kindle ? if so, try powering the Kindle On with it plugged into the charger. What result does that have?
Probably a battery failure then.
At 2 years old, I don't think your Kindle is covered by warranty any more (that usually ends at one year from purchase date.)
Would you be interested in having your Kindle serviced? or would you prefer to try replacing the battery first?
Not being under warranty you would have to pay for servicing.
Servicing, whether by Amazon.com, or through other companies, would mean having to pack up the Kindle and send it off.
You could go with Amazon.com's Kindle division, or with other companies (much smaller ones by and large.)
Amazon.com's contact page is here:
If you wanted to try to fix it yourself, as far as trying a replacement of the battery, there are kits for that repair available.
