I have a brand new SentrySafe model SFW123TTC. After

I have a brand new SentrySafe model SFW123TTC. After installing NEW AAA batteries (1st time), I have no power to the keypad. I CAN use a 9V on the keypad to power it. What's wrong with the battery pack?
JA: Have you tried power cycling the appliance -- unplugging it and leaving it off for a few hours?
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?

Have you tested the batteries elsewhere to check if they are working correctly, or tried testing them with a voltmeter?

Do you have any other fresh AAA batteries that you can try?

I have changed batteries. There are also testers on the batteries, themselves. Brand new out of the package.

There IS power to the keypad using an external 9V battery... but none from the AAA battery pack.
