Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Not sure Do I need to change my Mac Preferences or my settings on Optima?
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

I cannot say yet until you tell me what connection is used.
HOW is the mac connected to the optoma (what cord, port, etc)

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
cord
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

There is always a cord of some type required.
I need to know which one, there are several possibilities, and I need to know exactly which one you used.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
HDMI INTO THE PROJECTOR
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

Okay, so you need to first set the optoma to the HDMI input mode first.

Next on the mac click on the Apple Menu in the top left corner of your screen

Select System Preferences from the drop-down menu

Select the Displays icon

When the Displays window appears, click the Detect Displays button

The mac should then start projecting to the optoma

I CAN NOT FIND HDMI ON OPTPMA SETTINGS
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

It is one of the INPUT modes, on the projector itself press the SOURCE button repeatedly until you get to hdmi, or press the HDMI button on the optoma remote.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I DO NOT HAVE A REMOTE
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

Then use the buttons on the projector.

Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

Were you able to press the SOURCE button on the projector to get to the HDMI input mode?

Still not able to get it to workt
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

Can you tell me where you are getting stuck?
Did you get the projector set to HDMI?
What display settings have you set?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Unable to find HDMI
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 month ago.

All you have to do is press the SOURCE button on the top, it will give you the list of input modes, then use the arrow buttons to highlight HDMI, and press the Enter button in the middle.

If you are unable to use the onboard keys properly to access the input, then your best option would be to purchase the remote that came with it if yours is lost or missing, as that has a direct HDMI button on it.
