I purchased a vehicle and the code is locked and there is no remote
JA: Just to clarify, have you double-checked the code? And what is the exact make and model of your machine?
Customer: Kvt-512 kenwood. I do not have a code
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I just purchased the car. The previous owner let the battery die so now the radio is asking for a code
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?

Check if the code is noted in the vehicle's manual or elsewhere.

If possible, also check with the previous owner if they have a note of the code.

If that is not possible then you can try the KENWOOD KDC SECURITY CODE CLEAR procedure:

Use the code number KCAR:

* Press numeric key "5" ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key "2" ( 3 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key "2" ( 1 time ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key "7" ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
