Thank you for your question, my name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you.

Please note, a rating is only needed when we are finished.

Can you please remove the power to the recorder (so unplug it from the power socket).

Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the unit, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

Let me know the results please

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
It was unplugged for a week until last night...same result as before.
Expert:  Richard replied 8 months ago.

ok, unplug it, then hold the Eject button and with it held, connect the power

Tell me what then happens please.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
When I plugged it in while holding the "Eject " button, it alternately displayed "Open/Close", then a rapidly alternate display of "Please", then "Wait". The On/Off button has no effect.

Are you able to get to the menu on the recorder?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I have the functions menu screen up. A note in the upper right hand corner reminds me the tray is open...which it's not.
Expert:  Richard replied 8 months ago.

ok, you should have a system or setup menu then the option to reset

Can you do this please.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I did get the setup menu and reset it to default. It still shows "tray open" which it isn't.
