Hello, my name is Greg.

Usually this is a result of some corrosion on the connections. Take out the batteries again and use a q-tip with some rubbing alcohol and clean the connections where the batteries meet the safe compartment. Usually there is a buildup and it is keeping it from making the right connection. Also, be sure to use lithium and not alkaline batteries if possible. Contact me back if does not work....
