Please try the following resets to clear error e004:
1.Turn off the cash register.
2.Turn the key to PGM.3.Hold down the "Receipt feed" button and turn on the cash register.4.Hold down the "Receipt feed" button about 5sec and when you let it go there should appear "FFFFFFFFFF" in the display.5.Push the "SUB TOTAL" button and wait for a receipt.
