Do you get audio out in simplex or no modes at all? If so, do you have the repeater offset and tone programmed correctly? Do you have the Bluetooth turned on with no Bluetooth paired?
I mean if you transmit on a simplex frequency, are you able to be heard?
Are you hearing the repeater squelch tail when you unkey, indicating that you are getting into the repeater?
Do you have a scanner that you can program 146.520 in and then transmit and see if you can hear yourself?
On another radio you hear nothing when you transmit?
Oh, okay. Well, the only way to tell would be to listen in on another radio. It may be that you are not getting into the repeater. Are you hearing the repeater squelch tail when you unkey, indicating that you are getting into the repeater?
So you are probably not programmed correctly. Do you have your offset set correctly, +/- 600 and the tone set?
What is a repeater frequency in your area?
Okay, so your receive frequency should be 146.700 and when you transmit, it should show on the display that you are transmitting on 146.100. There may be a tone, oftentimes 100.0 Hz. Is that how you have it programmed?
Actually, the tone on that repeater is 103.5.
Do you have the tone programmed and turned on during transmit?
Does it also show that you have a CTCSS tone on?
The attached pages how how to program the CTCSS tone. It should display TN when you key up if it is turned on.
There are a ton of open repeaters in Riverside County, see the link below.
Sounds good, keep me posted!
