My sharp xe a-406 just froze. i type any key and it beeps

my sharp xe a-406 just froze. i type any key and it beeps normal but it wont register any sale. i pressed all the keys on the keyboard and nothing.

I would advise you to pull the power cord on your register.

Leave it that way for at least 1/2 hour, to cool off and 'rest-reset'.

Then plug it in after that time, and see if it is now responsive.

hi. ive already left the unit off for over 5 days and still same result. i read a previous answer about the clk/conv button. i dont know how that works but i read that this button was pressed. how do i reset this button. i dont know if thats the solution but how do i reset it. thanks

Try this reset first - it will not erase any memory or programming:

Unplug the register from the power.

Turn the key to PGM.

Hold down the Journal Feed and Receipt Feed keys, and plug the register back in.

Turn the key back to REG.

Does that help?

If not, would you be willing to risk erasing all the memory and programming in the register, by doing a Master Reset?
