Customer Question

I just purchased an AMC stereophonic, hi fidelity, all transistor console. The turntable will not turn. Has idler wheel, but not sure if there are any parts missing. When I turn it on I hear a slight clunking noise from the wheel, and it speeds up and slows down. I bought this at a thrift shop for 40 bucks and I only have a couple of weeks to get it running or return it. Please help and give me some ideas

How would I know if there are any parts missing to this? It was very clean when I purchased it. Who made the AMC brand?

Hi there,

The AMC systems were manufactured by NAD and rebadged: http://nadelectronics.com/

Finding spare parts for this old system will be difficult however you could try NAD to see if they have any schematics or service manuals or diagrams available.
