Hi, I'm an Expert here, named Russell H. I'd like to provide some helpful suggestions now:
- if the paper won't feed any further, then it might be that a blockage in the paper path through the calculator has occurred. Take the paper tape out, use a small flashlight and see if any obstruction that the paper could catch on, is visible.
- if the paper feeding simply stops, and doesn't resume, that's a different sort of problem. (One was to tell is to look/listen and try to tell whether the roller is still turning that is trying to propel the tape through, or not turning. If not turning at and immediately after the point where the paper stops, then the problem is of this second type.)
If the paper feeding in simply stops, rather than being forced to stop, a sensor switch may be indicating a jam, or there may be worse problems.
A broken paper presence sensor, could sense a jam falsely, and cause paper feeding stoppage, possibly.
How old is the calculator?
I'm glad to hear the news, that my suggestion worked (and I presume, your calculator is now working fully once again.)
Please rate my (Russell H.'s) answer, so that this case may be closed, and thanks.
