Welcome! Sorry to hear that your kindle isn't cooperating with you.

When you when you have the kindle plugged into the charge cable, will it power on and work normally?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No, It shows me the low battery charge for 15 minutes and then try again. Then it goes black.

How old is the kindle, and is it used frequently ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it is used frequently. It is about 3 years old.
Expert:  Josh C replied 1 year ago.

Thats about what I had figured. The typical battery in the kindle is a lithium based battery, and usually lasts about 3 years with moderate use. If you replace the battery in it, it should be fine. You can order a new battery online, and there are videos of how to install them also.

Thank you so much!

if you don't feel comfortable with changing the battery yourself, any shop locally that advertises "broken screen repair" for cell phones would be able to change it as well

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
We couldn't figure out how to get the battery out so where could we find instructions on how to change it?
