I have s sprinter rv with a Jensen am/fm/cd that speakers do not work - speakers are good. Is this a normal problem? Also, is there a Jensen with a blu-ray cd available?

Hi my name is*****'m a 30 year audio engineer. I think I can help.

Expert:  Wayde Alfarone replied 12 months ago.

Can you tell me how you tested the speakers?

Expert:  Wayde Alfarone replied 12 months ago.

How do you know they are good, or do they just look good?

Expert:  Wayde Alfarone replied 12 months ago.

I have a quick way to test if you're not sure.

The speakers work intermittently as thought there is an open in the system. It not the wiring because I have tested it with ohm meter. I was hoping you would know if there is an issue with the radio internally. Also is there a blu-ray system available to replace this one?
Expert:  Wayde Alfarone replied 12 months ago.

This is not normal for the Jensen head unit. Although it does happen with mid fi systems occasionally. I would suspect that the amp section may not be seeing the correct impedance at the unit. You say you measured the speakers with an ohmeter correct?

Expert:  Wayde Alfarone replied 12 months ago.

Did you measure all the speakers separately at the unit? If so, can you tell me the reading you got?

Expert:  Wayde Alfarone replied 12 months ago.

You may have a speaker that has voice coil damage and is showing a low impedance to the radio's amp. If this is the case, it will cause the amp to shut down to protect itself

If this is the problem, you would need to replace that one speaker. If this is not the problem, then there are many units that will fit and replace the Jensen, and I can help with that.
