How old is your Teac unit?
Also, did the audio cut out while it was on or just wouldn't turn on one time?
Thank you for that info. This is more than likely a bad power MOSFET, its a switching component in the audio section of the unit. There are several in this one. If you have electronic test equipment and are handy I can help you locate and replace this part. But its really a skilled service so if you don't think you're up to this then you will unfortunately need to bring it in for service.
The best places for this are Best Buy and Sears nationally.
They both are fair priced and do excellent repair work. The way it works is you will drop it off, they send it out and it comes back usually it takes a week in total time.
