Hi, Markus and welcome!
Is your safe electronic or does it have a manual dial?
Does it also need a key to open, with the combination?
Do you have the combination printed in the manual?
What did you try so far?
Thanks for all your additional information and after you reply, please allow me some time to go over it and send your detailed answer.
So sorry for the delay. My internet disconnected and it took a while to reboot.
Here are the instructions for the correct dialing sequence for a 3-number combination:
First, 'clear' the dial by turning several times right or left, gently.
A. Start the dial at zero.B. Turn the dial to the left. Make sure ZEROpasses the pointer at least THREE times. Then stopat the first number of your combination.C. Turn the dial to the right. Stop the SECONDtime you reach the second number of yourcombination.D. Turn the dial to the left. Stop the FIRSTtime the pointer reaches the third number of yourcombination.
If you have already done this, because the safe is second-hand, the dial may be a little off, so try to match the pointer with the number a little before and/or after the number in the combination.
If you continue to have problems, your next step should be to contact Sentry Customer Service, as you may have a defective opening mechanism. Here is their phone number and hours:
***-***-**** Mon. - Fri. 8AM - 6PM Eastern time.
I wish you much good luck and hope you get the safe open. If you need more help, just let me know and I will be glad to continue.
Hi again, Markus.
I'm sorry you couldn't get through to Sentry by phone. You can also fax or email them, with the information here:
If you contact the stores where Sentry safes are sold, in your area, you might ask to bring it in for help opening it or a referral to a Dealer or company technician they use. You can find a list of the stores where the safes are sold, at the link below; just scroll down to 'Canada.'
