The machine needs to be re-callibrated. L5 error. Your speed sensor must have been damaged either during shipping or use. You'll need a new one. If under warranty - give Bowflex a call. They will ship you out a new sensor and guide you through installing it via the phone... re-calibrating the machine... and getting it operational again. It will take about 2 hours. The instruction book doesn't mention calibration. be sure to not callibrate in metrics, however (there's no way to easily tell the difference - you have to ask) or you'll be strolling like a walk in the park at 5 "mph".
Please don't forget to rate my service before you close this page, I will still be here for you at no additional cost till this is up and running again:-)
reading the maintenance manual I took the cover off the motor and hand pushed the tread and the speed light on the lower control panel came on. According to the manual that means the sensor is working. It then said to recalibrate and I went through that process. the upper display had 11.0E on the left display and 12.0 on the right. you can change the left to 17.7n. all three red lights in the upper part of the lower board by the motor are red. As soon as I hit start nothing happens and the display console freezes. I can only power off (a couple of times I had to turn power off because switch in upper display would not work.) Do you think it is still the sensor?
I do believe it is the sensor, especially since you cant seem to get them to even out.
I would definitely replace the sensor.
If that doesn't do the trick then it would need a new main board.
But the unit will not run with readings out of spec as you have right now.
And being that the sensor is much less expensive I would go that route first.
I will stick with you on this until we have this up and running but since this question may continue for some time, if you will rate my service as good or betterbefore you close this window, the system here will allow me to schedule free follow ups with youso your question wont close or time out and you can contact me anytime at no additional cost.Thank youTech Michael
