Hello. Let me know when you are ready. Just type into the box below and press enter to reply.
Try resetting the Kindle. Make sure the Kindle is unplugged, and then press the power button and hold it for 30 seconds. Let me know if that doesn't fix it.
If that fixes it, please don't forget to rate my answer. Any bonuses and feedback are greatly appreciated.
DID NOT WORK
OK. Now plug the Kindle into power. Does the charge light come on?
Are you still there?
YES I'M HERE
Do you get a charge light when you plug the Kindle into power?
YES I DID AFTER A LITTLE WHILE
OK. Leave the Kindle plugged in for 5 minutes, and then, with the Kindle still plugged in, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
I tried that earlier in the morning and it did not work.
Could you please try it one more time. Often times it won't charge properly unless you do the reset first. I just want to make sure that there isn't just a software glitch causing the issue.
Okay, it is still plugged in since you told me to.
OK. Just wait a few more minutes, and then hold the power button for 30 seconds.
ok
Go ahead and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Let me know whether or not that fixes it.
Okay, it finally shut down. Now what
Is it still off, or is it starting up now/
It is still off
OK. Now press the power button. Does it turn on?
So can you tell me what was wrong with it.
Is the Kindle running now?
Can you tell me what was wrong please
Hello, are you there
Assuming the Kindle is working now, the Kindle likely had a software glitch, which will happen on occasion with any tablet. To correct that, you just have to reset it. If the reset doesn't fix it, then you will need to charge it and then perform the reset again. If this type of issue happens often(more than once every week or two), then your Kindle may have a hardware issue. And if that's the case, then it's still under warranty, and you can call the number below to get the Kindle replaced under the warranty:
