hiYes, actually, it cannot be a network card, because a network card as a diferent plug from a residental phone system line. So the real problem is choosing from RJ11 or RJ31X. RJ11 cannot be used for an alarm system. The rj31x is not a standard telephone jack, and connecting anything other than alarm equipment will cause damage to the jack or equipment. It sure that the correct answer is rj31x.Regards!
