I have a Fisher portable stereo w/CD, model PHD 640, and I need a laser for the CD, part SF-P100. This unit is 15 years old--I bought it at Sears. Is this part still available?
Optional Information: Make: Fisher stereo w/CD Model: PH D640 Already Tried: This stereo is in Mexico, and a tech there told me I would have to find and bring the laser for the CD (part SF-P100) from the US....

Hi "Jon-Tech", I'm Customer who asked you about availability of a laser part for my 15-year-old stereo CD back on 2 July. You answered promptly, providing me with five links to finding the part. Only one of the five, the www.ebay.com, worked for me, and I have ordered the part. I had to join eBay and PayPal to order (I hated that), and the part should arrive from Taiwan in about a month. If you are curious, I would give you the reasons why the other four links were unsatisfying. I could not decide how to answer the "feedback" questions from JA because of this, but I didn't want to seem too critical.... Thanks for the info, though.

(1) dhgate: "ITEM SOLD OUT" (in red letters); (2) alibaba: "min. order 100 units" "min. order 5 pieces" "min.order 20 pieces" etc. EXCEPT FOR ONE, a Chinese firm w/out an FOB price; (3) ebay: this worked; (4) PacParts: price $61.97!; (5) matelectronics: min. $25 order sans shpg., so need to buy 2 units. It is sometime very difficult to find parts for older devices yet I agree, with a little more care I could have narrowed down the options for you, and certainly would have.
