Customer Question

Garmin zumo 220 stuck loading maps. After downloading most most recent map update 2013.10. Download went fine.Disconected to update unit and has been stuck ever since. Computer will not recognize the zumo now.

Hello Bruce and thanks for choosing the JustAnswer.com Electronics category.

  • Downloading uses a lot of power and the USB port on the computer is limited to less than 1/2 amp.
  • Disconnect the battery if possible, then re-install the battery and charge at least one hour using the car charger or ac charger -not the computer USB port.
  • Then turn the unit on.

I had it charging on my commute today. 45 mins this did nothing to change it still being stuck loading maps.

  • Your only hope it to do a power-on reset, but if you can't remove the battery you will have to wait until the battery gets discharged and it loses internal power.
  • Then you can try charging it again.
