Customer Question

I have a Hitachi CP-X3511 projector that I have been using for several month. The color scheme now seems to be off. I have tried fixing it through the projector menu, have tried using a laptop and a netbook, and have tried adjusting settings on both. Nothing seems to resolve the issue. To give you an idea of the problem - red appears black when projected onto a white screen or other white surface. Can you help? I can be reached XXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX or (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Thank you!

Optional Information:
Make: Hitachi
Model: CP-X3511

Already Tried:
Adjusting color schemes in product menu, different computers, adjusting computers' settings.

littlerusty2005 :

Hello, my name is Rusty. I can help.

littlerusty2005 :

What type of cable are you using to connect to the projector?

Customer : Kramer Quality VGA.
littlerusty2005 :

Ok, let me look for a reset on your projector. Have you tried any form of a reset?

Customer : Yes.
Customer : No luck.
littlerusty2005 :

What was the reset method?

Customer : Through the menu options - something like reset to default.
littlerusty2005 :

Ok, I'll look for a hard reset. Is the projector on now/

littlerusty2005 :

?

Customer : No. I can boot it uP and connect my netbook to it though if that will help.
littlerusty2005 :

No, I would need you to unplug it. I'll give you instructions to try when you are physically at the projector. Stand by...

Customer : Ok
littlerusty2005 :

Still searching. Have you changed the VGA cable?

Customer : No. It's only a few months old.
littlerusty2005 :

Ok, that's where I would start. Unplug the machine for 15 minutes to discharge any static. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds during this time. Then change the VGA cable, plug it back in, and try it. That's the only user serviceable method besides the reset you already did.

Customer : Ok.
littlerusty2005 :

I'll be here when you do that. I'll switch this to Q&A mode. Check your email when you get home.

Customer : Ok

Already did and it works perfectly.

That's great! Let me know when it's fully up and running so we can finish this question.

That's odd too, because I usually only see them go bad at the connectors, unless they get run over or walked on a lot. There are 15 brittle wires inside the rubber shield. They can wear out.41064.8440854514
