HelloI have a sony reader PRS-300 I can not get it to charge. The charger flashes a green light continually I turn on the reader it says loading book . Never loads shuts down after about 30 seconds. The reader light is flashing a yellow light. Does it need a new battery if so where do I get one and how to install it

Hi,The problem may be the charger itself.The first thing to do is to test the output of the charger with a multi meter or have someone do this for you. Radio Shack can check this for you.If that does have the correct voltage there, then yes I would replace the battery.but lets go one step at a time.You can also try a different power outlet to be sure the charger is getting powerPlease note, pressing the ACCEPT button does NOT close your question. It actually keeps me in the loop with you, and allows me to continue dialog with you until the problem is solved. Will check out charger if I need a battry where is it located on the reader and where do I get one
Hi you can bring it into a store like Best Buy or even Radio Shack and they can show you how to replace the battery its pretty easy but the unit needs to come apart a little.Best Buy usually carries the replacement batteries.Also you can get a replacement(if its bad) But I doubt it is.Its likely the charger.Best buy and Radio shack usually carry one that will work for you.If you need further info I will be here to help even after the accept at no additional cost to you until the problem is solved.Thank you and have a great day
