Have VRD-VC20 has worked beautiful till now will not finalize discs. I can see it is recording but not finalizing says 'error'

Error during recording or burning your DVD's could be because of following key reasons. 1 - Your media connection or cables are not connected properly, any kind of interruption will result in write fail - Make sure the cable connection between your writer and the device is proper and check for any cable damage etc. 2- Due to any kind of dirt or dust inside the DVD Burner. You can use any off the shelf dvd cleaner and use it to clean. You can buy one for approx $20 from best buy or similar store. 3- It could also be due to specific type of DVD media you are using. In your case you are using memorix DVD-R which should work perfectly fine. But just for sake of testing buy any different brand DVD-R and recording and lower speed. 4- Also the content itself could be the problem, like in your case you are using old VHS, if you see any issue or glitches in the content on those VHS like sound noise or video noise that will result in DVD write failure as well. For sake of testing try most recent content from a computer which is clean and see if that is successful. 5- Lastly it could be the device or lens itself, as with time the recording head becomes weak and that could also result in the failure.
