Hello, my name is Rusty. I can help.

You are probably aware of the write protect switch on the side of the card. If that is in the right position, there is a little lever inside the camera, right where that switch sits when the card is fully inserted. Sometimes it can get stuck or even broken. Using a toothpick, see if you can unstick the lever on your camera. That's the DIY method. If that doesn't help, it may be broken or may have a bad sensor.

Well if the switch on the card is not in the lock position, and you couldn't get the switch unstuck, I'd say you bought a faulty unit. The switch and sensor are what control that function, not the card itself.
