Hello. I have a Rotel 1520 CD Player. When playing a CD (actually several different CDs) using the digital coax the signal frequently skips, then completely cuts out, then skips again and cuts out etc. When using the analog cables, it does not happen. Do you suspect a faulty cable or is there an known issue? The machine is about a year and a half old and used very infrequently, in our vacation home. I purchased it new and the problem began about 6 months into its life...or certainly under 100 hours of play time.Thank you.Peter
Hello my name is XXXXX XXXXX i will assist you. It looks as if the cable is dirty or damaged. Normally this is the problem. There are no known defects of this cd player optical out so i suggest you start be replacing the optical cable and try again. If it does not solve the problem then you would need to get the units checked by a technician as either the output of the cd or the input of the amp is defective.IF you need further assistance let em know.Noel
Hello,This unit does not have an optical out it is a RCA style single coax cable. I hadn't thought of the possibility of the digital in being defective on the receiver.Thanks.
Hi sorry, yes the same approach applies here, first thing you need to start with is the coax, even more it can be a defective wire other then the units themselves. But i would go on the same approach, replace the wires and if no get the units checked.Noel
