Hi there happy to help.

This video will show you how to do this......

The information you supplied is for a laptop, I have the HP touchpad tablet. I found a step by step way to replace it online, but it discusses prying the back off starting at the USB. It then talks about breaking a few of seven clips, etc. Here is the link: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-HP-TouchPad-Battery/6082/1 I got the battery on ebay and have one waiting, but I appreciate the offer to find it.

What step are you having trouble with? What is your exact model number?

Here you go. A little better guide for you. Opening the tablet starts at around 2:11 in the video......

The video is the right one and I gave it a try, but this is pretty scary. :-) I can't see exactly where the two come apart. I take apart by laptops and desktops all the time, but this is different. I got the silver band from around the edge off, but it was only the band. Then I got the black rubber coming off but nothing with it. I will accept the answer because it is the right one, but do you have any other suggestions for a 63 year old woman who is pulling apart a tablet. :-)

Expert:  Daniel replied 2 years ago.

You need to get yourself a butterknife or something to pry the case open.
