My daughter has lost the remote to her Sansui P42V8 TV. No universal remotes work. Where can I find a replacement remote or is there a code a can use on a universal remote?
Optional Information: Make: Sansui Model: P42V8 TV remote Already Tried: Several universal remotes. The latest tried in a Logitech H600. I have also surfed the net looking for a sansui P42V8 tv remote to buy with no luck. Is there another Sansui tv remote that can be used instead and that is available for purchase if the P42V8 is not available?
You can purchase a remote straight from Sansui themselves at this LINK. Use the filters along the top to search for your daughters specific TV. According to the model number you provided it should be a 42" Plasma TV. If this is correct, they have four different specific models. You will have to choose your specific TV model number (i.e. HDPDP4200).I hope this helps and best of luck,Jason
Hi Jason, I had a look at the manuals with the remotes HDPDP4200. None of them looked quite the same TV set up as the one my daugter has (it has a central swivel stand, the front controls on the left hand side and the back and side controls are also a different set up). Nevertheless I tried to purchase the remote for the HDPDP4200A and B models however the website doesn't seem to accept Australian details, postcodes etc for registering as a new customer. I have sent an email to them to chase this up. Q1 the fact that the layout of the TV controls is different to the HDPDP4200 remotes will these remotes still work? Q2 If so, is there anywhere else I can purchase the remotes from?
Manufactures go through updates and upgrades all the time. If your daughters TV is an older model (even by a year) the look and layout may be different. Could you get the exact model number of the TV? There should be a label on the back somewhere that has those details. It may also be a model that is sold in a different county.Also, I just noticed that Sansui makes TV's for Orion. Maybe try the Orion TV codes for your universal remotes. We'll get this figured out for you.Jason

The label says that it is a Sansui FPHDTV Model No. P42V8, with factory code A012799, from Gurangzhou Englaon Electronic Tech Co Ltd. Then below the label is a white stick on type label with the following 01010S0189. Does that help to clarify things?

Yes, that does help.The TV is manufactured by Sansui but distributed by Englaon, a Chinese company. Here is the LINK to their site. You can contact them (would recommend email) at a few different email addresses. I would use all of them and see where you get. You may have to work through their translations as they are a Chinese company.Because of this, it may be difficult to find a universal remote to work with this TV. However, you do have another option with your universals. There is usually a function to scan all the codes available. Try that and see if one of them will can find a code to work with the TV.Jason
We already tried the scan options with no luck. However I have now sent an email to Englaon so hopefully someone can help me there.
