How long have you had the set for, and when did the problem occur?

Additionally, what is connected to the TV for devices (DVD, cable box, etc.), and do you have the same issue regardless of which you're trying to watch?

Also, if you press the MENU button on the TV remote (not the cable box remote), does the MENU come up on screen?

Customer reply replied 5 years ago.
Sound bar
Direct tv

I only watch the tv thru direct tv and there remote
Nothing else is connected

I have this unit in my garage sitting on top of my refrigerator live in Mississippi
Temps are not extreme. I have insulated garage door and heat lamps comfortable 60 plus degrees

I can't get the Panasonic remote to work
Aric, Technician replied 5 years ago.

On the TV itself (no remote), press either the INPUT, Menu, or Volume buttons, do any of these indicators come up on the screen?

Additionally, are there any blinking lights, buzz or hum sound on the set?

Customer reply replied 5 years ago.
Volume and menu come up no buzzing etc
Aric, Technician replied 5 years ago.

Do you have a DVD player or other device you can connect to the TV to see if the picture comes up right away?

Also, when the picture does not come up right away with Direct TV, does the TV still have sound?

Customer reply replied 5 years ago.
But sound works during black screen

I'm watching it know and picture is fine just happens

It doesn't happen until we've been watching for a while
It has never happened upon start up
Aric, Technician replied 5 years ago.
When the picture goes out, do you get a "No signal" message coming up on the screen?
Customer reply replied 5 years ago.
No sir

Have you ever replaced the lamp my friend?
Customer reply replied 5 years ago.
No it's less than 3 Years old
Is that your thought and what does that cost
Aric, Technician replied 5 years ago.

Yes the symptoms you're having are extremely common with a lamp that is failing. The filament will change resistance and cause the ballast to become unstable and shut the picture down, with is usually cured by a power reset until the lamp finally fails completely.

In addition that doesnt sound like it should fail so quick
Aric, Technician replied 5 years ago.

Average life expectancy of a lamp is around 2-3 years, whish is right in the range you're in.
