i JUST e_MAILED YOU. nO CABLE/DISH eVEN UN-PLUGGED THE dvd
Ok
Will he step back? Or run away?
still here
Did you upgrade the tuner firmware?
What's that?
Sorry got too many with the same problem
Please allow me a few moments to review your question again.
When the batteries are out of the remote does that help at all? Do you have any other remotes that control the TV? Like a cable remote setup to run the TV also? Sounds like you have a signal coming to the TV with a button stuck
You did a nice job of diagnosing by the way

Above is tuner firmware for that model INSIGNIA with instructions
NO CABLE/DISH. EVEN UN-PLUGGED THE
go there and put new firmware in your tuner it should stop the channel changing volume issue if not you might have a short but one step at a time first you already did the unplug which is good, next is the upgrade on the tuner firmware
What do iI do with this info?
You had the tuner that changed channels correct?
A remote.

Is the remote doing it? If you take batteries out of remote can you control manually?
If the remote is not powered [no batteries] and that solves the problem the remote has a stuck button or short, replace remote or push all buttons with no batteries feel for a stuck or soft key if found replace remote but go ahead and put the new firmware in your tv Insignia has that upgrade probably due to this problem and others,
Pulled the baiieries... Now the 'button's on the side of the T.V. are working, so far so good.
excellent you are doing very well
I have no USB cable let alone the knowhow. Am I 'stuck' Or does your warranty cover a
4 monthn old product?
This is NOT INSIGNIA this is an independent consulting firm, for warranty info you need to go to INSIGNIA DIRECT where did you buy this set?
Four months I would surely hope they would cover a brand new set for four months I would march that set right back to where I got it and make them fix it or replace it that is horrible if they would not cover a new set only four months old
If you find you the remote is bad you can check the firmware number against the upgrade firmware number, at only four months it might have the updated firmware in it, depends on how long they had it on the shelf, in either case they owe you a new set or a new remote or both if this is only four months old
How you doing with the batteries out of the remote?
So fae so good with 'em out.... I bought ti from Worst buy (you get it)... They don't like return's or problem's
manufacture is 2011/ Thanks for the help Mweey X-Mas
OH I know, I hate going there, but sometimes I about have to but four months raise hell they will do something that is bull
So really you have a bad remote think so? If it all works manually then it has to be remote, anything get spilled on it?

Experience: 30 plus years industrial electronic electrical repair
Thanks for your time. I will try returning the whole 'mess' but I know it will cost me. We'll see. Don't buy ANYTHING from Best Buy, unlesss you have another half of the purchase price laying around. This will be 'good' (how much their warranty cost's to set the purchase 'right'). If you're interested in the out comeyou know how to reach me. Merry X-Mas!
I agree with you fully, Not a scientific study, but I am sure more than half the questions regarding electronic devices are on devices not even two years old, it is a plain shame while I do a lot of electrical and electronic I do more industrial than anything, but on the consumer side, I have many friends and experts in the business, thirty year vets tell me they would not buy a new TV or anything without an extended warranty, regardless of brand, Good luck to you, Best Buy is down what 27% share price? They cannot afford to get too many bad comments, plead your case, and if you need to get down and dirty go there, the whole market is just a mess, but don't let it ruin your holidays and after all it is just stuff, however hard earned money bought the stuff, where are the Zenith Consoles that lasted 15 years and maybe you changed out a couple tubes along the way?Long subject and it is a sad one, but you are exactly correct I find and have went with consumers to various retail outlets, with near new whatever, one thing that is very embarrassing for them is to put the stuff on the counter and say "show me why this won't work it is brand new and came off YOUR Shelf"Best to you and all your family and friends,
